About PinkFae Gaming
PinkFae Gaming, NFP, started in the winter of 2014 as a video game blog. The name of the blog was taken from Katie’s name she uses when creating characters in various video games. The intent was to post video game reviews, gaming experiences and fan fiction based on Katie’s character PinkFae.
The direction of the site expanded after Katie read about the experiences of other transgender gamers, discovering transgender game developers and the discrimination of transgender female gamers in female professional gaming tournaments. Its current mission is to provide gaming news of interest to transgender gamers, interviews of transgender game developers, and weekly reviews of games. We also host video game tournaments that are transgender inclusive.
Besides video games, the site also covers board games, dedicated deck card games and role playing games. We hope you find a lot of information here and check back often. If you have something you’d like to see covered on the site, feel free to drop us a line via the contact page.
Besides articles we also host competitive video games and collectable trading card games. You can see the past PinkFae Leagues in the tab on the main header. We hope to have more of these in the future.
We also attend conventions to make sure the transgender and non-binary gamers’ voices are heard. There we try out new games that are coming out and interview developers. You can look in the category on the side bar labeled social events for articles on conferences and conventions we have attended.
We also have a Twitch channel that you can view here on the website or at twitch.tv/pinkfaetv. There you can watch some of the best and up and coming transgender, non-binary and ally streamers. We also live stream conferences and conventions that we attend.
In June 2020 PinkFae Gaming officially became a non-profit organization. We operate on contributions made by you. You can see more information about how you can give a donation in the donate tab on the main header.
Our Staff
Katie Walter – Editor-in-Chief, Founder
Katie’s (she/her) first experience with video games was in the late 1970s with Pong on the family Tandy TRS-80 home computer. She published her first gaming review in 1982 for the TRS-80 video game Rear Guard. It was around this time that Katie also discovered the joy of roll playing games, starting with Advanced Dungeons & Dragons. In college she played Doom, getting her into first person shooting games. This interest lasted until Final Fantasy XI was released when she started to spend time playing massively multiplayer online role-playing games. Currently she has an interest in many different genres of video games. She lives in Elgin, Illinois with her cat Lorien.

Bailey – Writer, Discord Administrator
Bailey (She/Her) started gaming under the wing of her grandmother who played RPG games on the Sega Genesis, which is still her favorite console. Her first console of her own was the N64, where she played games like Smash and Donkey Kong, but she really got into gaming with the rise of the PS1 and Dreamcast consoles alongside her trusty GameGirl that was always running Pokemon Blue – the first game she ever beat. Since then, she’s played through 3 Xbox 360s thanks to playtime-induced red rings, several Gameboys of different gens, a PS2, and a few PCs! Now, mostly on PC and Switch, she spends her time at home when not at work, taking care of her disabled wife and their precious cat-baby, Tart.
Maya (She/Her) first started gaming at the age of three with a copy of Pokemon Silver on the Gameboy color and just fell in love with the hobby. Expanding her horizons on different games and genres turned into something that eventually lead to her seeking out a career in gaming.
My name is Tom (He/Him) (many people know me as Fire Frenzy from both my gaming past and my twitch username), I’ve been gaming for longer than I could possibly hope to recall, and for a time I had equally poor vision to prove it! I’ve worked with the likes of London Pride and Essex Pride in the UK over the recent years as well as having been part of various support networks for the LGBT community on social medias such as Instagram.
These days, aside from having a game community of my own with over 100 members that have spent years creating a safe place no matter what your background and life is like, I took to twitch to steer my community on a new path that could be enjoyed in a more wholesome and fun way.
It was there I began on a new path and it wasn’t long until I met Katie. I was familiar with her non profit organisation through our mutual friends and noticed that she was looking for additional writers. As well as being a gay man, I have always side somewhat of a side ambition to do whatever I can to aid the LGBT community in any way I can and saw that me joining the team of writers married nicely together both my passion for gaming but also my desire to help raise the profile for a worthy cause.
In March I became a Twitch Affiliate, and have continued to not only write reviews almost weekly, but I do often raise awareness of PinkFae Gaming when I’m live as well.
